1. About Arth.Find
Arth.Find is a context-aware reading tool that helps users understand words, phrases, and sentences based on the surrounding text in a document. The service is designed around data minimization. 2. Information We Process
Text You Select
Selected text and its surrounding context are sent to our server only when you select text and click Explain. Arth.Find does not collect your browsing history and does not read or transmit the rest of a page's content.
Information You Provide for AI Services
Arth.Find may allow you to connect your own AI provider account or API key, including supported providers such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, or NVIDIA NIM. If you choose to use this feature, the credentials you provide are transmitted securely and protected using encryption. Arth.Find does not display your original credential back to you after it has been securely stored. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your AI provider account and for complying with that provider's terms and policies.
Preferences and Settings
Arth.Find may store settings such as reading themes, background preferences, and other interface preferences locally on your device. These settings are used to provide a more personalized reading experience.
Account Information
Arth.Find does not currently require users to create an account to use the extension.
3. How We Use Information
Information processed by Arth.Find is used to:
- provide context-aware explanations and related functionality;
- securely handle AI provider credentials when you choose to use your own provider account;
- remember your local preferences and settings;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service where necessary; and
- comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
We do not use your selected text to build a personal profile about you.
4. AI Providers and Third-Party Services
To generate explanations, Arth.Find may transmit selected text and relevant context to an AI provider.
Depending on how you use the service, this may include providers such as:
- Google Gemini
- OpenAI
- NVIDIA NIM
The information sent to an AI provider is subject to that provider's applicable privacy policy, terms of service, and data-handling practices.
Different providers, products, account types, and service plans may have different data-retention and model-improvement policies. You should review the privacy and data-use terms of the AI provider associated with your account before submitting confidential or sensitive information.
5. Information We Do Not Sell
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information for advertising or marketing purposes. We do not use information processed through Arth.Find to create advertising profiles or credit profiles.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use this information only to provide Arth.Find's single purpose: explaining selected text in context. We do not sell it or use it for advertising, and we do not transfer it to third parties.
6. Data Retention
We do not store your selected text or its surrounding context on our servers. Text is stored only if you choose to save it to your library, and saved items are kept on your own device. Our servers keep only standard technical logs (such as request time and status) needed to operate and troubleshoot the service.
Information may nevertheless be retained for a limited period where reasonably necessary to operate, protect, troubleshoot, or legally maintain the service. Where you use your own AI provider credentials, encrypted credential information may remain associated with the service until it is removed, invalidated, or otherwise deleted in accordance with our applicable procedures.
7. Local Storage and Device Data
Some Arth.Find preferences are stored locally on your device, such as themes, wallpapers, and interface settings. Local settings remain on your device unless you remove them or otherwise clear the relevant browser or extension data.
8. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information handled by Arth.Find. Communications between the extension, our servers, and supported services are protected using encrypted HTTPS connections.
Where you choose to provide an AI provider credential, we use encryption and appropriate security measures designed to protect that credential from unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should avoid submitting confidential, highly sensitive, or unnecessary personal information when using AI-powered features.
9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may choose whether to use features that require an AI provider credential. You may also remove your locally stored Arth.Find preferences and settings through your browser or extension controls.
Where applicable under the laws governing your use of Arth.Find, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction, deletion, or other forms of control over your information.
